A D.O. is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. D.O.s are equivalent to M.D.s (Doctor of Medicine) and the main difference is that D.O.s integrate hands-on techniques and skills. Osteopathic medicine focuses on the body as a unit and the ability of the body to heal, regulate and maintain itself.

A physiatrist is a doctor who has gone through medical school and training in the field of PM&R (physical medicine and rehabilitation).

Sports medicine relates to the diagnosis and treatment of conditions and injuries pertaining to the musculoskeletal system. Sports-related injuries are typically sustained over the course of dynamic and specific activities that may cause unique injuries to the musculoskeletal system or aggravate pre-existing conditions.

Regenerative Medicine has become one of the most promising and compelling treatments available today.

Following a traumatic or degenerative sports, spine or orthopedic injury, our bodies may not adequately control the balance of cell destruction and repair, often due to inadequate blood supply or instability causing repetitive injury.
